When can I pick up my property?
Property can be picked up Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
When is the Records Department open?
The Records Department is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
When is the lobby open?
The RPD lobby is open from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Can I get a background check done at the RPD?
The RPD does background checks from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The fee is $5.00 if you have no arrests. The fee is $10.00 if you have an arrest on your record. Debit and Credit cards are NOT accepted.
Is there an Officer at the RPD I can speak to if I go to the RPD?
A desk Officer is usually available at the RPD Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Who can I complain to?
Complaint forms are available at the front desk at the Police Department.

What do I need in order to pick up a firearm from Property?
A valid ID is required as well as proof of ownership. Proof of ownership can be obtained where the gun was purchased.
When does RPD do Police Recruit Testing?
The RPD tests for new recruits every third (3rd) Thursday of the month at 9:00 a.m. Individuals must have previously filled out an application for employment. For an employment application, visit City Hall, or contact Training and Recruiting Officer Lisa Brackeen at 575-624-6770. You may also visit www.roswell-nm.gov for an application.
Why don`t some of the Arrest photos show up?
Some arrest photos may not show up due to the fact that the arrest was an arrest citation, in which cases photos are not taken. Another reason the photos may not show up is because the record is not ready to be viewed. Please allow 3 business days for photos to be visible.
I can`t find my report on P2C.
Be sure to enter the incident report number as the example below shows:
EXAMPLE: 2013012345 (A zero (0) must be between the year and report number).
Information on worthless checks
Issuance of Worthless Checks Guidelines:
*The check amount must be under $5,000.00
*The check must NOT be more than 60 days old
*The business/individual shall contact law enforcement to file a report once they learn the check is returned/closed account
*The business/individual MUST then contact Worthless Check Enforcement (1-888-844-3436)
*Check Enforcement will then make all contact and efforts to resolve the worthless check
*If the Worthless Check Enforcement can NOT make contact, and certified letters are returned a RPD Detective will become involved in the case
